Feature
GPS tracking that explains the number
Waypath records with GPS, holds the activity on your phone, and then tells you what the terrain cost you. Recording is free and there is no limit on how many activities you keep.
What you get
On every recorded activity
Distance, pace, splits and climb
Per-kilometre laps, time in pace zones, an elevation profile and the climb you actually did, on one screen.
Grade-adjusted pace
The published Minetti cost-of-running curve shows what a pace was worth on the hills you climbed, so a slow kilometre uphill reads as the effort it really was.
56 sports, each treated properly
Run, trail run, ride, gravel, ski, paddle, row, swim, hike and dozens more. Walking uses its own metabolic curve, not running's.
A pacer that slows on the climbs
Follow a saved route and the pacer budgets effort rather than distance, on the phone, the Watch, the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island.
A recording that survives
The activity is written to disk as it happens rather than held in memory, so a crash or a flat battery does not take the run with it.
A 3D fly-through
A chase camera follows your route over real terrain relief and exports as video. Free, on every activity.

Privacy
Yours until you share it
Activities stay on your phone. Nothing leaves it until you publish something, and you choose the audience per activity: only you, followers, or everyone.
When you do publish, the route is clipped before it goes: anything inside a privacy zone you have declared is dropped, a random two hundred to six hundred metres is trimmed off each remaining end, and the rest is simplified. A published map does not begin at your front door, and the trim is randomised so that repeated publications of the same route cannot be lined up to find the point they all avoid.
Straight answers
What Waypath will not pretend
- Heart-rate zones need a sensor. A watch or a chest strap. Waypath will not model heart rate from pace, and an activity recorded without a sensor is reported as unscored rather than given a number.
- Estimated numbers say so. Every modelled figure carries an estimated badge and never mixes with sensor data.
- iPhone only. There is no Android app. There is an Apple Watch app.
