Feature

Waypath on Apple Watch

Record from the wrist with a real heart-rate reading, with or without your phone in your pocket, and the exact sport comes home intact. A trail run stays a trail run.

On the wrist

What the Watch app does

Records with or without the phone

Leave the iPhone at home and the Watch still records the session.

Real heart rate

From the Watch's own sensor, which is what makes heart-rate zones and training load meaningful in the first place.

The sport survives the trip

A trail run recorded on the Watch arrives on the phone as a trail run, not as a generic workout.

The pacer, on your wrist

Follow a saved route and the pacer budgets effort rather than distance, with the same numbers as the phone.

Apple Health

Waypath can import past workouts from Health, so switching does not mean starting from nothing.

Lock Screen and Dynamic Island

On the phone, the live session stays visible without unlocking anything.

Straight answers

Worth knowing

  • Heart-rate zones need the Watch or a strap. Waypath will not model heart rate from pace. Without a sensor an activity is reported as unscored rather than given a number.
  • Readiness is modelled, not measured. It is a product's opinion about your sleep, resting rate and HRV. It is not a health assessment and it is labelled as modelled everywhere it appears.
  • There is no Android or Wear OS app. Waypath is iPhone and Apple Watch.

Put it on your wrist.

Free to record, on the phone and on the Watch, with no limit on how many activities you keep.

Requires iPhone. Recording is free and unlimited. Premium adds the deeper analysis.
